Dodge Caravan key fob battery

Every model year listed for the Dodge Caravan has a proven battery. The most common answer is 2 x CR2016. Rows below run oldest to newest; a year can appear twice when the car came with more than one kind of key.

Changing the battery

Separate remote fob

  1. A separate fob has no key blade inside, so it opens with nothing but a coin or a small screwdriver.
  2. Look for a screw on the back or a notch on the edge. Remove the screw if present, then twist a coin in the notch to split the case.
  3. Lift the old coin cell out and press the new one in with matching orientation.
  4. Reassemble and test from a short distance.

This key takes two CR2016 cells. Change both at the same time and stack them the way the old pair sat; mixing a fresh cell with a tired one shortens the life of the new one.

If a child might have swallowed a coin cell, treat it as an emergency and get to a hospital right away.
